MSL5026 with e1200 direct attached to ML370 with HBA?
Hi,
i want to use an e1200 Storage Router in an existing MSL5026SL Libary to extend the distance to the Backup-Server.
The QuickSpecks of the e12100 told me, that the only topology supported by the e1200/N1200 etc. is Switched Fabric, but the Manual tells me it??s supporting AL as well.
Can i directly connect my Server and if, wich HBA should i use (W2K Server).
Thx, Mike

Re: MSL5026 with e1200 direct attached to ML370 with HBA?
Hi,
This should not be any problem, I tried on our library. I use a Qlogic QLA2300 HBA configured for "loop only". The e1200 port is set to "Auto sense". The link was up after restarting and the devices was detected without problems.

Hi,
my confusion is complete :-(
The guys from the presales-team told me, that only the e2400 supports AL, all others do only support switched Fabric!
Do you have an Userguide of the e1200 and send it to me via eMail (michael.haase@bechtle.com).
THX

Hi,
No doubt. The e1200 supports both fabric and loop mode. There is descriptions how to configure both in the manual. I got problems when trying to email the file to you, my mailbox was full so I have to do some cleaning before sending it.
