MSL5030 + windows 2003 Server

I have connected a MSL5030 through fibre channel (HSV110). When I install W2K Server on a proliant DL580 I can see the library and the tape drives. When I install windows 2003 Server there is no library and no tape drive in the device manager. The drivers are all installed and I can present or unpresent a vdisk without a problem.
Has anyone the same problem?

Cristoph,
can you give further detail of your configuration?
Does the library have a NSR (Network Storage Router)?
Is the library connected to a SAN Switch?
Is zoning implemented?

Let us know

Re: MSL5030 + windows 2003 Server

The library has a NSR E1200 and is connected to the SAN Switch where zoning is implemented. In the map I see the WWN of the fibre channel card of the server.

OK Cristoph,
read this document:

http://h200005.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpg29075/lpg29075.pdf

and read also the thread named "MSL50 Adding Extra Tape Drive" of this forum, just few rows below yours. It contains some tips.

Good luck

Re: MSL5030 + windows 2003 Server

Christoph,

the main difference between w2k and w2k3 is that windows 2003 need CCl on lun 0 to scan the rest of the library.

You need to create a map for Windows environment following these rules:
lun0 NSR controller
lun1 robotic controller of MSL5030
lun2 first drive
lun3 second drive......
