MSL5060 Job Failure Cataloging

W2K, Fiber, latest versions, Insight manager running:

Each time I run a catalog on a DLT tape it returns job failure. System event log states, it times out.

The device, \Device\Scsi\CPQKGPSA1, did not respond within the timeout period.

Anyone have an idea to this problem?

I would reapply the HBA drivers, that should correct the problem.

Thanks I did reapply the HBA drivers, disabled the Insight Mgr and increased the HP Agent to 30 minutes verse default of 2. Then I used SDLT tapes verse DLT (read only) tapes. This allowed a back up and catalog.

Any thoughts on why this happened?

Mark,

There are some known problems with the Insight Management Agents polling library devices connected to a SAN. Disabling the "fibre array information" service recommended.

Which "HP Agent" are you referring to that you changed from 2 minutes to 30 minutes?
