Re: MSL6000 discovery problem

the zone do not appear complete, you have to add in the backup zone, the library and the HBA of the servers you want they communicate with the library, not only the library

Re: MSL6000 discovery problem

best will be to create a Tape_Zone for each Host that need to see the library:

Zone: TAPE_LIBRARY_host1
Zone Member: Domain 1, Port 3
Zone Member: host1 (alias, wwn or Dom/Port )

Zone: TAPE_LIBRARY_host2
Zone Member: Domain 1, Port 3
Zone Member: host2 (alias, wwn or Dom/Port )

etc...

this will keep all commands separeted from each server and from Disk devices

after you enable and save your zone, the WWN of the hosts should appear in the NSR after a FC discovery command.

THen apply the procedure I described before, and you should be able to assign the map to each host discovered

Re: MSL6000 discovery problem

hi
i have done the following:
1- i have created seperate zones for each server with the MSL
2-i have tried another SAN switch and done the config.
3-i have dont the port speed for 2g.
4- i have created a map on the NSR for the HP ux servers and removed the NSR, priority target/buss.

im still can not see the servers

Re: MSL6000 discovery problem

Amer,
my knowledge on Unix is limited, but if now you could configure and see the library in the Windows server, this mean all is working.
Be sure you do not have dual path on the servers, and you zoned the path inactive one

Re: MSL6000 discovery problem

as per HP's SAN checklist, seperate maps should be created for windows and unix.

Pls follow that checklist to create maps.
