ok... the FE went out and did a bunch of console moves and determined that "nothing" was wrong with the library. So, he did not replace any components at all. I guess he certified that the library was working 100%

Makes sense - if it's not broke, don't repair it.

We're still reviewing the firmware traces. The first set was after the library was power-cycled, so that didn't provide any clues. The second set is still being reviewed by the engineering team.

The library worked all weekend! The only thing I can think of is that this library is "somehow" different than all the others. We move the first tape from being slot zero (mail slot) to slot one and the backups sequence and rotate just fine. I guess that is why the 0423 bios was released with with the mailslot fix...

Here we go again... Error 3041 last night out of the blue...

The engineer is replacing the control board... I guess he found something.

Sorry I didn't update you on the second set of logs. The engineers said they were not conclusive, and wanted to see if the problems cleared up with 4.23 firmware.

If you have problems again after the controller board replacement, give me a yell and I'll try to get the failures analyzed.

Well... the backup failed completely last night. The "engineer" did not check the system out with us as we had requested. We wanted to make a simple test to see that the library was in good working order... But, he left the building as quickly as he could without anyone knowing he had gone. We have no written record of his activities or a status from him that the work was complete. He made absolutely no comments whatsoever to anyone while he was there. He just snuck out when he had the chance. I am sorry to report this is the field presence of HP represented to the court, but, there you have it. We are still down. I know he did "replace" the board because the bios is now at 4.21... but, beyond that, we are still investigating?
