MSL6030 FC Win2K

I am planning to connect an MSL6030 to a SAN Switch 2/16EL. The HP OV Data Protetor Cell Manager is installed on a Proliant DL380 G3 witch is connected to the SAN. I the Sales Builder, Win2K Advanced Server seems to be a prerequisit for Fibre Channel MSL6030. Is Win2K Advanced Server really a prerequisit or can I use the Server Version ? Some other servers on the SAN are WIn NT4 and Win2K Server, can I back-up them using HP OV Data Protector thrue the SAN ?
Thank U.

Re: MSL6030 FC Win2K

Mohamed,

The MSL6030 works with a normal Win2K server as well throuh a SAN.

You need an advances server if you want to use a MSCS cluster.

You can take the backup through the SAN provided you've got Unix/NAS/SAN drive licenses for DataProtector.

Thank you very much Kurt,
What about the NT4 servers (second question).

Well, I am not Kurt, but, according to the EBS matrix they are supported, too.

Sure the NT servers will work as well.

Re: MSL6030 FC Win2K

DP is for sure supported on Win NT4 (using the LAN with a SCSI Library directly connected to the cell manager). My question is about a SAN library and a LAN free-backup.

Re: MSL6030 FC Win2K

At some of my customers, I'm taking a LAN-free backup of NT servers with DP.

The NT4 servers have of course a media agent for the LTO2 library and this is the only requirement for a LAN free backup. So it works.
