Dear all,
The maximum i can save per Tape is 535GB on an HP LTO3 on my MSL6030 with one LTO3 Drive.
Both MSL and Drive are patched with the latest firmware.
On the MSL The compression is set to ON.
In NETWORKER, the jukebox is discovered correctly, with a status of using LTO ULTRIUM.
Does anybody have a clue of what has to be done to make NETWORKER working correctly with the Media compression ?
Regards,
Franck

Hi,
It is not sure that anything is wrong.
Compression ratio is very data dependant.
The 2-1 ratio in the drive specification is only an average.
What kind of data are you backing up ?
Try a compression utility (e.g compress, gzip winzip) on some of your files to get an idea about compression ratio for your data.

Re: MSL6030 LTO3 and NETWORKER 7.1.3
Native capacity of a LTO3 is 400Gb, if you reach 535 it means that your data allow this compration ratio. The compression ratio is highly dependent of the data itself, and for my experience, with the data we have nowadays, you are in a good shape

Thank you very much for your answers.
By digging, i found tons of JPG and PPT already compressed that could explain.
Best regards,
Franck
