MSL6030 only sees Changer
after an drive change we only see the changer and none of the two tape drives.
does any one has an idea on what can be wrong?
we have checked the following:
cable connections (they are connected as shown in the installation manual)
FC connections (loop is up, and from RHEL we can see the Changer)
Discovery in the NSR gives us 4 devices (1 controller, 1 changer and 2 drives)
Mapping is set so that the host currently connected can see all devices.
With regards,
Robin Schipper

Re: MSL6030 only sees Changer
Have you tried to rescan the bus in RHEL?

Re: MSL6030 only sees Changer
we have tried to rescan the bus, but it keeps comming up with only the changer.
seems like something is blocking connections to the drives.

Re: MSL6030 only sees Changer
Have you restarted the library or library controller too? What about the settings on the tape drives themselves? Know you can surf into the libary controller or do some changes to the tape drives on the OCP as well.

Re: MSL6030 only sees Changer
no changes,
i was thinking perhaps an driver issue?
unfortunaly i cant remote connect to the library card (no network connected)
so i have to check the drive status manualy.

Re: MSL6030 only sees Changer
Have you checked the device map? Login to the NSR via a serial connection and check if there is a correct device map.

Re: MSL6030 only sees Changer
the libray shows the drive status on the OCP,
and in the NSR we have made an device map, with al the SCSI devices in it, and the hosts is assigned to that device map.
so no problems there (as far as i know)
