Re: MSL6060 Vertical Elevator Jammed Error

It is best to check the site partsurfer.hp.com

And search for MSL6060, the partnumber depend on the partnumber of the library

Re: MSL6060 Vertical Elevator Jammed Error

The first thing that you have to do is to check if there is no tape down or in bad position next make the exercise test to the MSL via LTT.

On last resource is to change de elevator or the vertical controller.

Re: MSL6060 Vertical Elevator Jammed Error

The elevation of the picker is made by two motors that controll two rotating screws connected to the oposite edge of the picker system.
fro troubleshooting, you should first look inside the library from the windows, or removing the cover, and see what is happening, if the elevator move, if it hang, or if it do not move at all.
if it move, but then never reach the right position, or fail during move, you can run the test and the calibration from the front panel first.
aslo check as already said, if something is disturbing the movement, like a cartridre not fully inserted, cabling, or sticker inside the box.

I think the parts you may need are these below:

263637-001 Front screw rail assembly - For StorageWorks MSL5052, MSL5060, and MSL6060 series tape libraries

412492-001 Rear screw rail assembly

or

263640-001 Vertical axis controller PC board - For StorageWorks MSL5052, MSL5060, and MSL6060 series tape libraries
