MSL6060 mixing 2 LTO2 and 2 LTO3 drives, is it possible?

Is it possible to have LTO2 and LTO3 drives inside the same library?

Mislav, We've been using a MSL6060 with 2 LTO2 off one NSR and 2 LTO3 off the other for months.
We only had LTO2 tapes loaded and there were no compatibility issues. Only problem was managing LTO3 tapes when they got loaded.

I don't believe this is supported otpion with HP. If you are out of warranty, then you will not void your warranty terms.

Otherwise, this is not a good idea to mix and match drives in a library.

Hi All,

please check the Document below. There are Information about Mixed Media in Storageworks Tape Libraries:

Basically the rule is. If your application
supports Pooling or partitioning then you should be all right. But this is a problem
when using native OS such a HPUX as it doesn't support this functionality.
