MSL6060 web interface.

We have a MSL6060 are running DP 5.5 on a HPUX server.

When accessing the library remotely via web interface. 'Tape library automation managment console' i.e. http://. It prompts for a default password.

Does anyone know how to change this?

Re: MSL6060 web interface.

The default password is "1" or "2", depending on access level. You can change it in the library setup screen.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: MSL6060 web interface.

Thanks Torsten. I am still unable to see the option for changing this password. The library setup screen, does not give me this option.

Do I need to change this password directly from the front panel of the MSL?

Re: MSL6060 web interface.

Mr. Campbell:

The password can only be changed from the MSL5000 utility using the serial cable connection to the MSL library Robot controller module. This is for physical security issues.

The serial cable RJ11/DB9F-P/N: FD-64281-01 or 252850-001 that shipped with the MSL will be needed, as well as, a laptop or desktop PC to connect to the MSL serial port to reset the password. The following procedure may be used to reset the Remote Management Interface password:

1.Make the serial connection to the MSL and a serial port on a laptop or desktop PC using the serial cable

2. Startup ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software4/COL8951/co-23765-1/
Login as Anonymous

3. Establish the program connection to MSL robot

4. On the tool bar select 'Configure'. Next select the 'Acess' tab.

5. Hopefully, this will display the current level 1 and level 2 passwords and allow them to be changed.

6. click 'OK' to complete the required operation

I really hope this works.

Thanks

Actually you can change it from the front panel as well.

1) You need to know the user (i.e front panel) level 2 password (prompted for in set 2).
2) Under "Menu:Edit Options: Network:", you can change your web level 1 & level 2 passwords.
3) Power-cycle the library to make the changes effective.

The journey IS the reward.
