Since we are having two drives in our library, the backup job scheduled to the second drive doesnтАЩt continue automatically it stops with the above message.

Tape Library MSL 6000

Serial Number: 3G51LRP5C84P

Backup Software:- HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Product version :- A.05.50
Internal build version :- DPWIN_00113

Please Suggest how we can resolve the above

Regards

Re: MSl 6000 Data Protector

Robin,

It all depends on how the media allocation is setup in your backup jobs.

It is best practice to use a media pool for a certain group of jobs (eg weekly and daily backups). And if a free pool is used above that, the backups will become much more flexible.

best regards,
Kurt

Re: MSl 6000 Data Protector

The library was working fine with single drive.

Recently we added the second drive to the Library, after adding we mapped the drive in the NSR. in Data Protector we installed the drive through add device wizard. we tested the drive with test backup and it is working fine.

but when we schedule the existing backup with existing media pool (which are working fine with old drive), to the new drive we get the above message.

Please suggest weather we need to create a new media pool or any other configuration need to be done.

Regards

Robin
