Major SCSI problems with StorageWorks Ultrium 215 & 230 tape drive

Hi,

Like others on this forum I have got SCSI errors when backupping with Veritas backup Exec. Every time I keep getting Event ID´s 9 & 11. The tape drive keep getting locked up after a couple of Gigabyte´s when backing up.

HP LTT test are all OK, but when the drive locks up it says that is has got parity errors.

I have tried everything:

- New (ultra320 multimode) terminator
- New (Adaptec 29320LP & HP (268351-B21) Dual channel Ultra320) SCSI adapter´s
- Different speed settings on SCSI adapter´s
- Every other setting on the SCSI adapter´s

My configuration:
IBM X335 server
Adaptec 29320LP SCSI card or HP HBA card
HP Storageworks 215 (N26D firmware)
HP Storageworks 230 (E32D firmware)
Veritas Backup Exec 9.1

Unfortunately, there are no differences in the Ultrium 230 firmware that can fix the problem that you are seeing.

The Support Ticket shows problems occuring (multiple parity errors) that require the unit to be replaced. Please contact your local hp support centre for further assistance.
