The DLT drive is a 35/70 and its attached to a dl380 and I also have another server 1850r that is using the same type of DLT drive expiencing the same problem.

Re: More infomation on " SCSI controller not starting for DLT drive"

I had same problem. Fix was to uninstall the compaq scsi drivers (cpq32fs2), uninstall tape driver, then reinstall in the reverse order, ie tape driver then compaq scsi driver.

Re: More infomation on " SCSI controller not starting for DLT drive"

Thanks for the bit of info but I have a question for you? Was that fix on a DL380 system or a 1850r system. The reason for the ? There are different motherboard architectures. A fix may work on one type of system but not on the other? Can you give me more info?

That fix was for the 1850R and it is attached to a TL891 Library. Good Luck!
