Multi -Library MS6060

Hi:

I have a MSL 6060 and MSL 6040 using Pass-Through Mechanism, but.
I configure a Master and slave as is the logic.
But the Question is respect to the router configuracion I have 3 router cards ( 2 in the MSL6060 y 1 in the msl 6040) conect to the sam swith

Some body see this before !!!

Must be a MSL6060 and a MSL6030, MSL6040 does not exist.
This setup is correct and the recommended one in MSL6000 (which often uses Ultrium drives). Each Ultrium drive must be on a single channel, each NSR has 2 SCSI ports... So we have a NSR for each 2 drives.

sorry its MSL6030, and yes we have 1 NSR for each 2 drivers ,-- But the Question is exist some special configuration to do for each Router to see the library as one with 6 drives using data protector

The PTM allows the libraries to move tapes from any magazine to any slot or drive, but you still have 2 library controller cards, that will appear as exchanger control devices in Dataprotector.
Maybe someone with more experience on this software can answer.

If you srack 2 or more libraries, only the controller of the primary must be on the SCSI chain.

The SCSI ports of the secondary controllers must not be on the chain (one port terminated, one port open).

The primary will report the whole stack as a library with n drives.

The communication between the primary/secondary controllers is made over the "internal" network.

If I understnand this right you want your backup software to see both libraries, 6 drives & 90 slots as one library/entity?

What backup s/w are you using?

These are seperate tape libraries, each with NSRs (2 for 6060, 1 for 6030 as you stated).

One of the NSRs per tape library will have control over the robotic arm but you cannot make them look like one unit, unless they were physically added together (MSL6090?) as the robot only looks after the drives it can see.

This may be logically possible with the backup software, Data Protector can do pooling. If they're both SAN fabric zoned to be seen by the backup master & clients.
What backup software are you using.

1 have one msl6060 WITH 4 DRIVES and one msl 6030 WHITH 2 DRIVES AND Data Protector s/w FOR SOFTWARE BACKUP (CELL MANAGER IN WINDOWS)

aCTUALY Y HAVE 3 NSR 1200 INSTALL Y THE BOTH LIBRARY USING ONE PAST TH.

TWO NSR ARE INSTALL IN THE MSL6060 AND ONE IN THE LIBRARY MSL6030..

SOME ONE HAVE A IDEA WHO INSTALL THIS CORRECTY
AND THE 3 NSR NEED SOME SPECIAL CONFIGURATION TO SEE THE LIBRARY AS ONE. WITH 6 DRIVES
