I have an HP StorageWorks MSL2024 1840 FC LTO-4 Library.
How i use the 1.6 TB full size of the tape ? I can only write 800 GB in each tape.
Anyone could help me with this ?
Thank you in advance.

SolutionThis is question no. 1001 of this kind.
LTO-4 has 800GB native capacity, a 2:1 compression ratio is pure marketing (theory).
If your data is not compressable, you can store 800GB only.
Make sure the backup application has hardware compression set to enabled.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: My Tape Library LTO-4 Compression Ratio 2:1 Problems
Thanks for your info.
Yes, after i read the HP DP Manual Bible i thought the same.
You can dream with the 1.6 TB annouced if you only backup txt files LOL.
Anyway, i need to confirm my first thought with someone with more experience in the DP.
Thank you again ;)
