NSR E1200 parity erros

I have a MSL5030L1 with 1 Ultrium Drive and a NSR E1200 integrated.
I have all the SCSI cables well connected between the router, the library and the drive.
My problem is that i can't get the devices in a "UP" state in the router discovered devices. I have tried every possible configurations, includind those that HP gave to me.
The only thing that is strange is the parity error in the SCSI, that I put down:

It seems as you don't have any active IDs. Check your settings in the FC-port window, is the FC link up ? What Default Map ? Try with "Auto assigned" if you don't already have done this.

Re: NSR E1200 parity erros

Tanks for your response.
This is situation is heaven stranger, because when it works, I have Active ID 1 and 2 and no parity errors. But when the devices are "down" I only see this parity error.
My FC link is down, I have tried with Indexed and Auto-Assigned already.
Is it necessary to have FC link up to have my SCSI devices in a "UP" state?
Any other idea?

Thanks

Re: NSR E1200 parity erros

Hi,
I am not sure if the FC link need to be up, it may be nessecary as the drive indexing have to do with FC settings. But, in any case the link needs to be up if you should have any use of the library. Or, is there a direct SCSI-connection to a host. In this case I think you should disconnect the router.

Re: NSR E1200 parity erros

I have the FC Link Up and my devices don't go to a "UP" state.
The router sees all the devices, the library and 1 drive, but put them as down.

Re: NSR E1200 parity erros

Hi,
I tried disconnecting the FC port, the drives remains UP. Below is the my listing for SCSI 1 bus.

SCSI BUS 1 DEVICES

Protocol Bus Device Type State Map Count Target Id Lun Id
SCSI 1 CHGR UP 0 0 0
SCSI 1 TAPE UP 0 1 0
SCSI 1 TAPE UP 0 2 0

Is your CHGR UP ?
Is the Target Id assigned to the CHGR and TAPE ?

Re: NSR E1200 parity erros

Hi,

I have the CHGR and the TAPE "Down" and target id 1 and 2 assigned.
Another fact, sometimes the devices remain UP and then starngly go DOWN.
