Re: NSR Firmware upgrade

logging in the NSR, and creating the report, you should see the map
The map should include the nsr if you want it seen by the host
the mapping should look like:

Echelonbighost FC Port 0 Map

LUN Protocol Bus Device Specific Address Type Status Device Description
0 AF 0 Lun= 0 CTLR UP HP NS E1200-160
1 SCSI 0 Target= 1 Lun= 0 CHGR UP HP MSL6000 Series 0518
2 SCSI 0 Target= 2 Lun= 0 TAPE UP COMPAQ SDLT320 5555
3 SCSI 0 Target= 3 Lun= 0 TAPE UP COMPAQ SDLT320 5555

Re: NSR Firmware upgrade

first line is missing in my case :

ACTIVE MAPS
Active FC Maps

FC Port 0 Map: Port 0 Device Map
LUN Protocol Bus Device Specific Address Type Status Device Description Serial Number
0 SCSI 0 Target= 0 Lun= 0 CHGR UP HP MSL6000 Series 0520 USX62800J0
1 SCSI 0 Target= 1 Lun= 0 TAPE UP HP SDLT600 2929 MYJ0625G0P
2 SCSI 1 Target= 2 Lun= 0 TAPE UP HP SDLT600 2929 MYJ0622FP4

How do I add the NSR ?
Thanks

Re: NSR Firmware upgrade

the NSR has no LUN and thus is not seen by the OS ? How do I assign the NSR a LUN ?

Thanks again

Re: NSR Firmware upgrade

What you should do in recreate a new map that include the NSR, save, activate the map and be sure the map is presented to the hosts.
Be aware that changing the map may cause addressing change in your Backup application

Re: NSR Firmware upgrade

Hi,
get back to our hardware support team who definitely do not want to create a new map. According to them, the best way to upgrade is through FTP, despite HP Web site recommendation (which is through LTT).
This thread is closed for me.

Re: NSR Firmware upgrade

upgrade through FTP is the only way to upgrade according to HP support.
