Need Urgent Help

Hi There,

I have a HP C1113M attached to a Proliant ML570R
running on Windows 2K SP4.

Am getting many warnings in Event Viewer as below

1]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation
2]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR2 during a paging operation
3]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR1 during a paging operation
4]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR0 during a paging operation

Any help with this will be appreciated..

Jay,
I would say your Harddisk3 has developed a fault.
What make of drive is it?
How often do the errors appear?
Any impact on your system?

Most manufacturers have hardware test tools you can use. From another post:
Hitachi (IBM):

Western Digital:

Seagate:
http://www.seagate.com/support/npf/...ls/seatoold.exe

In the mean time can you check where your paging file is located and move it to an alternate drive (if possible).

Thanks a ton for your reply..

I would definetly try out the steps you mentioned..I would like to add something here..

The error comes from an External Jukebox(HP C1113M)attached to the server..

We got to know from the Jukebox engineer that the Jukebox is working fine..

The event viewer is full of warning messages with event ID 51 with the below error

1]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation
2]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR2 during a paging operation
3]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR1 during a paging operation
4]An Error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR0 during a paging operation.

DR3,DR2,DR1,DR0 are the Juke Box attached to the server.

Thanks for the additional info. Doing a bit more digging, I found:

Both would still indicate a hardware disk problem.

what application are you using to access jukebox? usualy the os should not access directly to these disk, as they are removable one, and may also be they are WORM, and this is causing trouble to windows that want to take full controll and read.write on it

You can still usle Library and tapetools and run media validation test so you can test your media
