New LTO2 Device

We are trying to install a new LTO2 autoloader onto an adaptec 29320 SCSI card. I observed POST, and saw that only the Autoloader portion was discovered in POST. When I installed the Symantec Device drivers, it saw the LTO2 device. However, when I did an inventory, there were a large number of soft and hard write errors. My suspision is that there is an issue with the NEW LTO2 drive.

Any suggestions?
