No Model to pick (HP C5683A)

I am trying to install a HP C5683A on a HP tc2120. I just upgraded to Windows 2003 from Windows 2000. I have downloaded the latest Windows 2003 drivers for the hp C5683A. When I try to install the driver and after I pick the hpdat.inf, there is nothing in Models to pick from. What causes this?

Regards

Chris

Re: No Model to pick (HP C5683A)

Chris,

What controller is your DAT40 cabled to? Are you on the embedded adaptec 29160 or off a PCI HBA?

Also have you tried the 2000 driver in 2003 for the embedded AHA29160 controller located here?

Re: No Model to pick (HP C5683A)

Hi Greg,

It is connect to a PCI adapter, even so shouldn't I still be able to see the model regardless if on the system or not?

Re: No Model to pick (HP C5683A)

Chris,

What PCI HBA are you connected to? If you don't have the correct driver for the HBA, then you'll have problems identifying or seeing the device in the NOS.

Re: No Model to pick (HP C5683A)

Thanks Greg.

I was little surprised to find the SCSI card drivers were not working. I would have expected to see an explantion mark or something in device manager.
