Not detecting tape right

Hi! We have a Compaq 15/30GB DLT LIB with two Compaq 15/30GB DLT LDRV on a Win2000 server Proliant 1600.Backupsoftware ARCserve 2000. Revision 8626(v38), Firmware v60d3.cpx and Maxell 15/30 lllXT tapes. The problem is that the tapes are detected as 10GB and not as 15GB tapes as it should be. Does anyone have a clue to what causes that? I?m also looking for whitepapers on our DLT Library but comes out with nothing on compaqs site. Where do I find white papers to my tapelibrary? How is compression turned off, by software or hardware ? Regards Peter
