Off-Site tape backups - possible with this setup?

We are using Netbackup 5.1 with a MSL6000 tape backup system (consisting of 2 drives and 1 robot). Backups are currently done to a designated backup pool. We now have the requirement to take backups off-site.

Is this possible in some way with the above configuration?

There's no reason you can't offsite what's currently being created (understanding restores will wait for the tapes to be recalled) but if you have enough tapes, you might prefer doing multiple copies: update the policies to write two tapes and put the second tape in a different "offsite" volume pool.

Note: 5.1 is quite old and no longer supported by Symantec.
