Old 250MB tape drive error

I recieve an error "oa" and error "99" and am unable to back up my computer. Whatever you can tell me would be helpful

What kind of computer,
model,
Operating System,
Release level of your OS,
type of tape drive,
model of tape drive,
type of backup you are trying to perform,
release level of the backup software you are using,
when were the last patches installed,
what was the exact error message,
and when was the last time this worked?

The computer is a 16MHz PC, running MS-DOS 5.0, doing a selective backup of modified files, the last patch was installed recently (august), it hasn't worked since then. It's an hp colorado jumbo 250MB tape drive. I don't know anything else about it, I'm 2500 miles away from it. Still, any help is appreciated.

You might be SOL, but here's some patches from HP. You might want to check with M$ for patches from them.
