Problem in checking in tapes
Tape Library - HP ESL 712e
We're facing issues during tapes check-in. Though it has been resolved, we need to know what could be the cause for this issue.
When I hit open ports the “confirm – make sure door is open” message would appear but when I hit yes it would go back to the “Menu, Open Ports, Ops, Diag. Stop, Select” menu.
After several tries I got the following message: Error: 320 Check condition 02052600 Invalid Field in Parameter list. I tried the open ports again and it worked. I was able to enter all the tapes. After all the tapes were checked in, I did try to open the door several times and was able to do so without any problems.
Please let me know, what can be done to avoid this future.
Thanks in Advance,
Regards,
Mohan.

Re: Problem in checking in tapes
Thanks for the response.
We've upgarded the firmware to latest on last month Jan 2011.
1,Upgraded CommandView TL from the 2.5.00 level to the 2.7.00 level.
2, Then ESL from this bundle cvtl_esl-e_jan11.exe.
Any other options?
Thanks & Regards,
Mohan.

Re: Problem in checking in tapes
(you may also post it here, maybe someone has a clue).
I found in the notes:
Added new feature to support quick load port opening, added to the Setup menu. Openports is new menu option when you enable Quick Load Port Open under the Setup menu.
Just to make sure, there are a lot of firmware for different components (interface manager, robotics, drives, etc...) did you update them all?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Problem in checking in tapes
Yes, of course.
But you can also pull a support ticket (service relevant information about your library) directly from command view and attach it here.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Problem in checking in tapes
The feature you're talking about was added at Version 6.00 of the Library firmware. Our library came in at Version 6.23, so we were already way ahead of Version 6.00 when we purchased the library.
Any other option?
Regards,
Mohan.
