Problem removing TK50 from TK70 tape drive

I'm having a problem removing a TK50 tape from a TK70 tape drive after a dismount. I pushed the unload button in the from but it will not release the lock.

Volume status: no-unload on dismount, odd parity.

I went as far as rebooting to noavail.

????

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Those antiques were notoriously bad about not properly releasing the leaders of the tape cartridges. I had some back in the day when they were new and the only way to fix this sort of problem was to get a DEC service person on-site. I think you're going to have to call HP.

Hi Mark,

Data on these old TK's should have been moved off a long time ago! I will get the local field engineer involved. Thanks for your reply!
