Problems to configure DLT4000

Hi,


I did have problems to configure a DLT4000 on the K370 class with HP-UX 10.20.

I??m did connect the tape on HP-PB FW SCSI port ( 28696A ), and I did instaled the
SCSI and kernel patches.

I make the SPT driver on kernel, but the devices files are not created.

I tried to remove the SPT driver, and the OS did not know tape.


The output of the tape on ioscan -fn is ( whithout spt driver ):

bc 4 10/16 bc CLAIMED BUS_NEXUS Bus Converter
ext_bus 5 10/16/4 scsi3 CLAIMED INTERFACE HP 28696A - Wide SCSI ID=7
target 11 10/16/4.5 target CLAIMED DEVICE

I tried do install the DLT tape on D370 class in a HSC FW SCSI port and I sucessull.

The DLT Tape ans clables are ok

Hi,

By the looks of things you don't have the driver for the actual tape drive installed. Try adding 'stape' and 'tape2' to your kernel. This should fix it. 'spt' is not for the drives themselves.
