Repairing LTO drives
Hello Tape drive forum!!
I am new to this forum and have only been Depot testing and repairing tape drives for 11 months.
I am have been unsuccessful at replacing LTO 1 heads. I bought a known good head from a vendor but was unable to get it working. He said to transfer the chip from the old head on the Mylar ribbon to the new head. He does not have any dedicated technical support so he can't really help me out. It does not look possible to these beginner's eyes.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Brian
Peace be with you.
