Replacement DAT Drive

Hi, Have to replace a Internal DDS4 DAT drive on a Proliant W2K server.
Is there any additional work I need to carry out in the W2K Computer Management under removable Storage?. Im worried about thexisting backup tapes not being recognised. I believe they will show in the "Import" media before use.
Can anyone tell me if there is any internal housekeeping that I might have missed, before attempting backups
