Restore probem (one drive goes very slow )
I would appreciate help.
We have got 4/440 DLT tape library with 4 DLT8000 drives. Using all four drives
and concurrency set to 5 it takes around 5 hours to backup 585 GB SAP offline DB.The
same SAP offline bkp when we go for restore first 3 drives which are defined in BKP specification were able to restore Data from loaded tapes in 8 hours, while last drive took 16 hours (Since begining it was restoring very slower speed compare to rest 3 drives).HP recommended to change drive and we got it replaced as well tried with another set of backup to ruleout media problem but still makes no difference. We have set segment size to 150 MB and block size to default (64KB).

Re: Restore probem (one drive goes very slow )
What type of server are you using?
What type of HBA are you using? Anything different about the HBA that the slow drive is on (devices on bus, driver rev, bios rev)?
What are the exact bios and driver revisions of the HBA driver. NOTE: with Win2K+ sometimes the version repored by Device Manager is wrong, check the revision on the file.

Re: Restore probem (one drive goes very slow )
Hi ,
Thanks for reply
The server is HP L2000 with HP-UX 11.0 OS.
Library is directly connected to server over Fibre Channel. Both the controllers are having
same F/W revision. Also all 4 drives are on same F/W revision. The Disks are part of FC60 disk array. In order to get more details about the server please find attached ioscan output.
