SANsurfer
Can I assume that the only difference between HP & Qlogic SANsurfer is versions?
Never used it before but if I want I have a choice of either HP or Qlogic.
The latest version from Qlogic will handle the long tape drive handles produced by persistent binding on Windows 2003 64 bit boxes. I assume that the HP version still has the problem as the downloadable version looks rather old.
HBAs are HP rebadged Qlogics

Re: SANsurfer
Yes, like the hardware, HP also rebadges software to support them. The same happens with the SATA RAID controllers, that use HP Storage Manager (Adaptec Storage Manager with the name changed).

Re: SANsurfer
Correction : "The latest version from Qlogic will handle the long tape drive handles produced by persistent binding on Windows 2003 64 bit boxes" is incorrect. Sorry half asleep. Actually HP LTT got confused with long tape drive handles. Reference : http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=406729&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c01064312
The HP LTT Team have confirmed that its been fixed.
So it means that you can use either use the HP or Qlogic SANsurfer on HP kit.
I've known vendors to say only use ours - how doe HP react to this?
