SCSI compatibility for tape drives

Hi
I'm trying to replace a DAT8 tape drive with a DAT24 drive.
But the DAT8 is a Single ended drive while the DAT24 is a Fast Narrow SE SCSI-2 drive.

Will there be compatibility problems with the drive?

There shouldn├в t be any compatibility issue. But that also depend on the SCSI card you are using. Recommended SCSI Card would be an Adaptec 2

Re: SCSI compatibility for tape drives

Hi,
It is possible to connect a Narrow SE device to a Wide SE or LVD bus if you have a 50-68 pin cable but you should note that the entire bus will switch to Narrow SE mode and have impact on performance for all connected devices.
