SCSI reset on MSL6030 when loading media.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is an MSL6030 or a Data Protector question.

I recieved the following messages from data protector 5.0. [cell server and library robot conntroller on same win 2K server attached to tape library with fiber channel]

[Normal] From: HPBMA@fs12.xyz.com "LTO_1_fs12" Time: 07/24/03 15:04:17
Loading medium from slot 32 to device 3:1:1C

[Major] From: HPBMA@fs12.xyz.com "LTO_1_fs12" Time: 07/24/03 15:04:41
[90:63] Cannot load exchanger medium (Power on, reset, or bus device reset occurred.)

[Normal] From: HPBMA@fs12.xyz.com "LTO_1_fs12" Time: 07/24/03 15:04:41
ABORTED Media Agent "LTO_1_fs12"

The tape was picked from the slot and loaded into the drive before the abort. After the abort the tape was left in the drive. I unloaded the tape using the front panel, re-scaned the library and re-ran the backup. This time it worked.

Any thoughts on what caused the error.

That looks like a Data Protector question to me. That status "Power on, reset, or bus device reset" is a normal status and Data Protector should never fail a move because that status is returned. If you had recently power-cycled the MSL then that status should be expected.

Thanks, I'll re-post this on the data protector forum
