Re: SDLT or Super DLT

Hi there.
Check this URL :

http://www.products.storage.hp.com/eprise/main/storage/DisplayPages/libraries-mid.htm

We use a DLT 4/40 with very good results.
Connection to the node is via SCSI interfaces
( one for each drive / robot hooked to drive one ). Each drive is able to backup approx 32 GB/hour. Software is OmniBack II.
Second library Storetek Timberwolf ( 6 drives / 40 tapes ) bought as HP4846A. Connected as before to backup EMC disk array with Oracle production environment. Backing up 370 GB in 2 hrs 45 minutes.

Re: SDLT or Super DLT

Alexander, Thanks for your answer, but ...
I look not only for a library, I look for a library with newest SuperDLT-drives!
Alternatively some comments/experiences
"DLT vs. LTO" would be great.

ThanXs in advance

Re: SDLT or Super DLT

Hi Olaf,

HP does not have SDLT-technology drives in libraries at the moment. I am sure they will be coming shortly though.

bye,
