SSL2020 error 3021 message

My SSL2020 incurred a fault code 3021 meaning "no cartridge" while retreiving a cartridge from the cartridge magazine.

What does this mean and what can I do to fix it?

was there a tape in the slot?

Anyway just power off/on the library once. If the problem occurs again, you should loook further into it. But I would first classify this as a 'who knows why' issue.

Yes, there was a tape in the slot. In fact, the robot pulled the tape out of the slot and for some inexplicable reason started to put the tape back into the slot but stopped and froze. That's when the error message occurred. Recycling the power made the robot move about during the initializing stage and drop the tape into the robot's path and jam the robot.
