SSL2020 "Fault Code: 1004 Gross SCSI Error"
I receive a "Fault Code: 1004 Gross SCSI Error" whenever the server connected to the drive is rebooted or when I try to run a backup. It doesn't appear to be a scsi card issue because I was able to connect the server to another SSL2020. Each 2020 had identical configurations. I suspect this will be a hardware issue with the tape drive but I'd like to isolate it if possible. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Re: SSL2020 "Fault Code: 1004 Gross SCSI Error"
Gross error status was returned by the SCSI chip. This usually means that the SCSI chip is in an illegal state.
Solution:-
Press the Enter button to Clear
Check for a valid configuration (no SCSI ID conflicts), host SCSI cables (including overall length), and host SCSI adapter and termination
Cycle power to the library

Re: SSL2020 "Fault Code: 1004 Gross SCSI Error"
I've seen this posing and I've done everything listed above to no avail. Could it be the scsi chip on the tape drive that's causing the problem? Are there any diagnostics I can run to determine the problem? The drives robotics appear to be fine as I can run the demo without any issue.
