Scsi tape Error

Hello,

We have the following errors during night backup on STK T10000A tape drives :

SCSI TAPE: dev = 0xcd5e3040 I/O error during close

This error happens when a backup session needs more than one media to complete; we get it exactly when the second media is loaded on T10000A drive

The stape debug details are on the attached file.

try this:

1) Clean the tape drive according to procedure.
2) Brand new media.
3) Hardware support if the first two steps do not help.

Mostly it would be the bad tape or bad drive or the drive requires cleaning.

Also please check if you have the SCSI drive terminated properly, I notice somoe lbolt messages, can you attach the syslog.log file please?

The media are OK and the drives new ones !

We have opened cases at HP and also SUN support and we did not not yet resolve the problem.

This sounds like it's likely and application or OS issue. That application and OS are you using?
