Split Mirror backups on Windows servers

Does anyone out there do split mirror backups from a XP on windows systems?

The question i have is how do you mount the BC copy to back it up without rebooting the server to see the disk?

When using Data Protector buy Zero Downtime Backup XP for this, it creates the snap, mounts, does backup and dismounts it.

Or scripting ;-)))
