StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader only found as single Ultrium drive
Hi,
I hope somebody can give me a hint. I have a Proliant DL380 G4 with 2 Controllers (smartarray 6400, smartarray 6i). Connected to the Smartarray 6400 is a StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader. The autoloader however is only recognized as a single Drive, no matter what tool I use (Windows Hardwaremanager, array configuration utility, hp library and tape tools).
There is no Autoloader oder Library detected, only one HP Ultirum 3-SCSI Drive. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any tip
Florian

Re: StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader only found as single Ultrium drive
hi,
The issue is most probably with the controller. You should use a separate SCSI HBA and not a smart array controller.
Thanks!
regards,

Re: StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader only found as single Ultrium drive
So you NEED a separate SCSI controller.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Ahhhh - thanks for now. Will try that after my 3 weeks of vacation and report back.
