Storageworks tape library
I need some help with a stalled operation. I moved a tape from an existing slot to the mail slot and its still moving it.. days later :)
The msg on the storageworks display shows 'moving from slot to mail slot.. '
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanx

Re: Storageworks tape library
I think u'r right. It still does all the backups scheduled through Symantec backup Exec (8.0) so the software side is fine. The LCD on the autoloader is stuck on the msg 'moving from slot 14 to mail slot'. So it's most probably a fault with the robotic arm?
Thanx 4 the help :)

Re: Storageworks tape library
Then inspect it through the window.
Is it working now? A reset is sometimes really helpful.
If not, use LTT and pull a support ticket for detailed status information.

Re: Storageworks tape library
Some problems (internal communication, timeouts ...) can be solved by a re-initialization - power cycle.
With some luck this helps.
Well, it is a mechanical unit - moving parts may cause strange problems.
BTW, please read this too:

Hope this helps!
