Suggestions For Replacing DLT4000

I am running K580 running 10.20 with 28696A scsi diff card connecting DLT4000. I can not compress data because of software issues and I have reached the max native capacity. I know the DLT8000 will run off HVD, but looking into future upgrade of the server I would like to know the options of a larger capacity backup and still ba able to use it with the K580.

Thanks
Darren

Re: Suggestions For Replacing DLT4000

For a tape option you can look at LTO drives. These are LVD drives and the throughput speed/capacity overshadows what a DLT can do.

DLT8000 drives are good bet as well. I prefer them over DLT7000. (Had lots of problems with the DLT7000s)

If you have a disk array with room to work with, you can look into disk-to-disk backups. With the price of HD continuing to drop this is becoming the new frontier of backups.

Rick,
The problem in that is I need a device to runn on HVD. I was hoping that the LTO drives might have an option for HVD.
The HD back up is also an optin. Do you know of a link that I might learn more about HD backup?
