Surestore E 2/20 tape library - robot keeps exercising every 15 mins

Hi,

We have a Surestore E 2/20 Tape Library which is at the latest firmware revision.

About every 15 minutes the robot starts exercising (the robot keeps moving from one end to the other) and this can last for anything upto 5 minutes. I think this is a problem, any idea of how to fix it, or any io calls that can be sent to stop it?

Chris,
I'm not sure but remember someone was telling me that this is not a bug or problem... It's feature. Robot does 'cleaning' (shoeshining removing dust and debris) of its rails.
I think that issuing normal robot I/O (move tape etc) should abort this robot's activity.
Did you check library with LTT http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html ?
