TL891 - Use Cleaner Problem

I have 2 TL891 tape library. When we first bought this tape it was working fine but now everytime it loads a tape it would prompt "Use cleaner", it is using a lot of tape cleaner its too expensive. I am using a DLT 40/80 tape and my internal drives are 35/70, does it have to do with this?

Hi,
Ok this means that the clean sensor is to be cleaned from insideor maybe that sensor is malfunctioning.
I feel better log a call with HP or third party from where this was purchased.

When we see the "CLEAN" light after the tape drive has just been cleaned, we log a service call and have it replaced. We have about 20 of the TL891's and I would say that at least one a month is being replaced.

Thanks guys, but can I use a 40/80 tape with my 35/70 DLT Drive?

Yes, but it only use 35/70 of his capacity.
