Tap 800 GB is 400 GB

Hi
I have Tabs with 800 GB as capacity ,but in Data Protector is 400 GB ....

Any idea why ? and thank you in advance

Most likely that 800 Gb is compressed?

it's free !!,there is no any data !! ,but it's 400 GB only and the tap is 800 GB

I'm saying that the quoted 800 Gb may only be valid with 2:1 compression, which depends on the data.

Looks like tape is 400Gb uncompressed, and 800Gb in compressed size...

While formatting the tape, it will ask you to specify medium size, you need to select "Specify (MB)" as 800 x 1024 = 819200 and select "Force operation" option.

After formatting is done, check tape slots properties, in Usage tab, it will show you 800Gb total capicity.
