Tape Drive Error

We have two Proliant 3000 servers (NT as the OS) each with a 12/24 GB DAT drive. Since Thursday both tape drives are giving a Tape Drive Error: "Tape device reported an error on a request to write data to tape. Error reported: Unrecognizable data."

We have even tried brand new media in both drives but the error persists.

Any ideas as to what the cause might be?

Did you get this fixed? We have the exact same servers and same problem.
