Tape head alignment on HP LT&T
Can anyone tell me what the risk is for using the tape head alignment script within LT&T?
It says to make sure you are performing it under the supervision of a HP Tech.
Are there any concerns? Can the test be rerun or is it a one time thing?

Re: Tape head alignment on HP LT&T
Raymond,
Can you tell me which particular drive you have, which version of LTT, and which script you are thinking of running?

Re: Tape head alignment on HP LT&T
Hi, this is a DDS3 drive autoloader (SureStore DAT24x6.)
My understanding is that only the HP DDS3 (DAT24) drives are capable of having their "write head" realigned (but not the read head) and that it can only be done once.
The script within LT&T is: ddsWriteRecal.ssc
The version of HP LTT is 3.5 SR2.
Thank you.
