May some onetell me how the netbackup manage the tape in the tape library. would it delete all the expired backup? or overwrite the tape?

1. Tape Full - Tape is not scratched until all images are expired. Once this occurs, tape is returned to the Scratch pool for future use (overwriting).
2. Tape is not full - Same as above.

Thanks for your reply.
Do u mean that if I have 5 tape in 1 volume pool, after the first tape is full. it is going to reuse the first tape again after all the backup image on the first tape expired.

SolutionWhen all the backup sessions have expired on the first tape in the volume pool, it becomes available again for new backups (starting at the beginning of the tape).
It does not mean that Veritas will select the same tape directly again for new backups. Another (scratch) tape will be selected first, as Veritas will try to get an even usage of all the tapes in the pool.
