Tape to Digital TZ88 20/40 GB DLT
I got an old backup streamer from my company, but unfortunately with only 2
tapes of CompacTape IV. There is a lot of tapes with software upgrades, and I
wonder why I can't use these? They looks the same, but the front of TZ88 say
write protected, even if the tape write protect slide is off. Thank you.

Re: Tape to Digital TZ88 20/40 GB DLT
Inspect whole the casing of writable and write-protected tapes, mm by mm, to see if there're differentces: any additional holes, or closed/inexistent holes. If you'll not find any physical differences then I guess write-protect mark is written on the tape and you may not do anything with it
