Tapes always ask for mount request when full
I have formatted all new tapes and filled our device. Whenever the tapes get full I get a mount request that will not go away until I manually unload and load then next tape. I have set both options on the device that would affect this (Circular Mode and Autoload Mode to ON) and the media pool is set to loose. All media has been formated in the device so that it is recognized. I am not using any sort of script or inventory on the tapes so that it should not matter what the next tape in the device is so long as it is blank and not protected (all tapes are reported by the media pool as unprotected and with lots of room).
Any ideas on how to force it to automatically load the next tape in the device during a backup operation?
Thanks.

Re: Tapes always ask for mount request when full
Not easy to answer, because some details are missing:
- library model
- backup software used
- OS
At least this short list gives thousands of different combinations.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Tapes always ask for mount request when full
Sorry about the lack of details:
Data Protector 6.0
Windows Server standard 2003 SP2
Tape library is 2 Dell PowerVault 122T
Each tape drive holds 8 HP Ultrium2 400GB tapes. Both tape drives have the same settings and symptoms.
All backup and restore operations work as expected as long as there is enough tape to complete the entire job on the current tape that is mounted.
Thanks for the response
