Tapes come up as Write-protected when they are not...

I am using a TL891 with the expansion unit. I have 2 Compaq DLT7000 drives. 1 drive works perfectly. The other drive reads every tape as Write-protected and will not allow me to back anything up.

I can see this activity on the backup unit, so I am positive it is hardware related.

Pretty sure I have latest firmware, drivers and service packs all around.

Also using Backup Exec 8.6. Any help would be great. Working on one tape drive right now.

Thanks Nick Coelho

Hi Nick!

I am wondering if you figured out why your tape drive is stating that it is write protected. I am getting the same error using Arcserve 6.6 software, but it was working a couple of days ago. If you figured it out, please help me. Thanks
